Lived Experience Storytelling Webinars

Published: 24 September 2026

Join MND Australia for two webinars exploring lived experience storytelling.

Webinar 1: Lived Experience Storytelling Workshop

This interactive workshop is for people with lived experience of MND. It will explore how you can use your stories to communicate what matters to you and advocate for yourself or others.

You’ll learn practical ways to:

  • be clear about why you are sharing your story and what you want people to understand

  • use simple storytelling tools and communication techniques to shape your story for different people, situations and purposes

  • decide what you are comfortable sharing, and what you want to keep private.

The workshop is a chance to connect, reflect and explore ideas in a supportive setting. There is no expectation to share a personal story.

Date: Wednesday 14 October 2026 | 11am AEDT

Register: Via Zoom

Webinar 2: Supporting Lived Experience Storytelling

This workshop is for health and other care professionals who work with people with MND (or similar conditions) and their families.

This interactive workshop explores ethical approaches to lived experience storytelling and how we can create space for people to lead and communicate what matters to them.

How can we help people share their experiences in ways that make a difference, while ensuring they feel safe, comfortable and in control?

Through discussion and practical activities, we’ll consider how to support purposeful and impactful storytelling across organisational activities like advocacy, awareness raising, community building, research and communications, while creating safe and supportive experiences for the people sharing their stories.

Date: 28 October 2025 | 12pm AEDT

Register: Via Zoom

Both webinars will be facilitated by Kate May from Common Cause Australia.
